Sales Activation & Revenue Assurance Manager
Seltzer’s Smokehouse is looking for a highly skilled Sales Activation & Revenue Assurance Manager who is ready to join us as we head into a new chapter in our amazing story. With a renewed vision from our next generation CEO, the iconic Seltzer’s brand is preparing for national expansion through innovation, creativity, and forward thinking.
Role: Reporting to VP of Finance, the Sales Activation & Revenue Assurance Manager plays a dual role in driving sales growth while safeguarding profitability. This position bridges the gap between market-facing activation initiatives and back-end revenue assurance processes. The ideal candidate will excel in executing promotional strategies, ensuring flawless in-store activation, and validating that revenue and margin goals are achieved by identifying and resolving operational or financial gaps.
Responsibilities:
Sales Activation (Front-End, Market-Facing)
- Develop and execute promotional calendars and retail campaigns to maximize product visibility and sales.
- Oversee in-store execution, merchandising standards, and brand presence in retail and distribution channels.
- Support customer sell-in and sell-through initiatives in partnership with the sales team.
- Revise and maintain smart documents (e.g., annual playbooks) to guide activation efforts.
- Analyze campaign and execution performance, identifying successes and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage sales activation budgets and reporting processes.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts between sales and other departments to ensure seamless execution.
- Validate execution of pricing changes, trade agreements, and promotional commitments in portals, invoices, and field operations.
- Reconcile planned vs. actual performance on sales, promotions, and revenue targets.
- Track compliance with trade terms and promotional agreements.
- Identify revenue and margin leakage, investigating root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Develop dashboards and visual reports to track variances between targets and actuals.
- Provide weekly variance summaries and ensure accuracy of business intelligence data.
- Flag and follow up on unexecuted price adjustments or incomplete execution steps.
- Track promotional compliance, ensuring agreed-upon discounts, displays, and merchandising commitments are honored.
- Measure ROI of trade promotions, comparing planned lift to actual performance.
- Provide insights and gap analyses to inform future trade marketing and sales activation strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years’ experience in sales activation, trade marketing, revenue assurance, or related functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience reconciling planned vs. actual results.
- Proficiency in data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Proven ability to manage budgets and report on performance metrics.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
