Seltzer’s Smokehouse is looking for a highly skilled Quality Manager who is ready to join us as we head into a new chapter in our amazing story. With a renewed vision from our next generation CEO, the iconic Seltzer’s brand is preparing for national expansion through innovation, creativity, and forward thinking.

Role: The main function of the Quality Manager role is to ensure all quality standards and current procedures are met or exceeded; these include GMPs and standards established by the USDA and our Contract Manufacturing Clients. The role will work closely with the VP of Operations as well as daily interaction with plant personnel. You will be responsible for seeing that quality goals are met on a daily basis as well as conducting self-audits, writing and maintaining audit findings, and promoting safety and quality achievement (as well as quality improvement processes) across the organization.

The ideal candidate should have previous quality experience in a food manufacturing environment with the appropriate educational background in Science or Engineering. We are looking for a highly motived self-starter able to problem-solve, effectively manage time, be analytical, highly organized and detail oriented. Strong communication skills are required to effectively sell Seltzers products and deal with challenging situations when they arise. Previous audit experience or lead auditor training is required as well as working knowledge of applicable USDA, GMP and SQF or BRC Auditing Standards.

Responsibilities include:

Ensures workforce is well trained to provide seamless and timely delivery of service.
Oversees quality investigations for root cause and CAPA determination.
Accountable for troubleshooting problems through to resolution, escalating as necessary.
Works closely with all departments to ensure staff are working in compliance with internal policies and procedures, external client expectations and GMPs.
Hosts regulatory and client audits and assumes responsibility for ensuring that stakeholders are included in proposals for corrective actions.
